Again this year, ICSC's Leadership Development Program will be offering one-on-one mentoring appointments with a variety of industry professionals at the Southeastern Conference in Atlanta, October 28-30. The appointments are generally about 20 minutes in length.

William (Bill) A. Misiaveg, CSM


William (Bill) Misiaveg, CSM
is one of the principal partners in Carolina Holdings, Inc., a commercial real estate company which provides real estate development, leasing and brokerage services, asset management and development consulting services. The Company, headquartered in Greenville, SC, was founded in 1986, and its primary emphasis is developing, owning and managing investment-grade commercial and residential projects. The Company has participated in the development of approximately 140 projects ranging from nearly one million square feet to a freestanding Starbucks. The Company has and continues to provide development and asset management services for major companies and institutions including The Travelers Insurance Company, Protective Life Insurance Company, Wells Fargo, The Greenville Tech Foundation, Pacolet-Milliken Enterprises, Inc., and RealtiCorp.

Carolina Holdings, Inc. has worked with nearly every major regional and national retailer and has enjoyed repeat business and long-term relationships. Bill’s primary responsibilities include new business and project development, including oversight of the leasing and marketing activities for the Company. Present projects include development of New Holland Market, a 66-acre multi-use project anchored by Kroger. Additionally, the project will include shops adjoining Kroger, as well as QuikTrip, McDonalds, and a 50,000 square foot medical office building in the First Phase. Bill is also involved in the development planning and entitlements for the 270-acre Crystal River Commons in Florida; Landing 405 in Pooler, GA; a freestanding Verizon in Chattanooga, TN; and Pleasant Ridge North in Little Rock, AR.

Bill graduated from the University of North Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Following graduation, Bill completed the Dale Carnegie Course and Leadership Training for Managers. Subsequently, Bill attended Instructor training and was a certified instructor for both courses. Bill is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and retains a designation as a Certified Shopping Center Manager. Bill has real estate licenses in both North and South Carolina.

Bill established and presently serves on the Board of the Providence Foundation. Bill has also served as Chairman of the Board and Board Member for the St. Francis Foundation in support of the St. Francis Health System. He was Chairman for the Building Committee for St. Mary’s Catholic Church for six years. Bill served as Co-Chairman of the Upstate Catholic Collaborative for the fundraising and construction of the Gallivan Center for Catholic Social Ministry and on the Building Committee for St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School. He served on the board of the Sertoma Club of Wilmington and Penney Pitch Children’s Charities in Charlotte, NC and was Co-Chairman of the General Enterprises Division of the United Way of Wilmington.

Kyle Kritz, CLS

Kyle Kritz, CLS, Columbia Properties, is responsible for sourcing development opportunities and directing all aspects of the development process.  Previously, Kyle worked for Childress Klein Properties as Project Partner covering the Southeast.  Prior to Childress Klein Properties, Kyle worked for Harris Teeter as Manager of Real Estate and Asset Acquisition, where he ran their joint venture development program.  With ten years of experience, he has been involved in nearly every facet of the industry, from small shop leasing, outparcel sales, storing plan strategies, big box lease negotiations, land contract negotiations, portfolio management to ground up development projects.  Kyle earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Louisiana State University, with a concentration in Entrepreneurship.  He is a certified commercial investment member (CCIM) and a certified leasing specialist (CLS).  He holds real estate licenses in Georgia and South Carolina and is an active member of the CCIM and ICSC Georgia Chapters.

Daniel McCall
has been involved in the Shopping Center industry for over 25 years in various capacities including management, marketing, leasing, and construction oversight.  Past employers include The Jacobs Group,  JJ Gumberg Co., Developers Diversified Realty, Great Clips and The CREST Group.  Daniel has also served on numerous ICSC committees including the CSM committee, the CLS committee, North Central nominating committee and the Ohio ICSC Idea Exchange committee. Daniel currently works with The Cato Corporation as Regional VP/Director of Real Estate coordinating the store expansion within the Great Lakes region to include Cato Fashions and their newest store concept “Versona Accessories.”

Brett Sheets, CLS


Brett Sheets serves as Senior Vice President of Leasing at Cole Real Estate Investments. In this role, he is responsible for Cole’s national leasing efforts to new tenants and renewing existing tenants throughout its portfolio. He also helps source and analyze new acquisitions and development opportunities, as well as, manages and leverages Cole’s national network of brokers to market current vacancies.

Prior to joining Cole, Mr. Sheets was Vice President of Real Estate for Cold Stone Creamery, Inc., where he was responsible for executing Cold Stone Creamery’s nationwide strategic development plan. His responsibilities included managing and optimizing contract negotiations, site acquisitions and construction and development planning. His accomplishments included over 900 lease transactions, a formula for site approval and the creation of a national lease “take down” program that catapulted Cold Stone’s new store openings.

Mr. Sheets performed his undergraduate studies in business administration at the University of Arizona.

Robert Neill, SCSM



Rob Neill is a Project Director for Primax Properties, LLC, and a Partner in some of the Ownership Entities of the Company.  He has coordinated the development of the Company’s neighborhood shopping centers; and, in recent years has also been active in the Company’s development of Single Tenant Properties.  In addition, he serves as Broker In Charge for Primax Services, LLC, the property management arm of Primax Properties, which has roughly 1,000,000 square feet of retail and office space under management.

Neill has over 38 years of experience in the Shopping Center and Development Industry and has been active in all facets of the business, including site acquisition, lease negotiations, financing, and property management. He earned the International Council of Shopping Centers professional designation of a Senior Certified Shopping Center Manager in March 2002.

David Hull, SCLS


David Hull is a Senior Vice President and Regional Leasing Director for Jones Lang LaSalle’s Retail group and oversees leasing activities for the Gregory Greenfield & Associates portfolio. His responsibilities include the administration, management and ongoing coaching of leasing specialists. Additionally, Mr. Hull provides strategic planning and evaluation of re-merchandising and redevelopment of his portfolio of centers.
Experience

Previously, Mr. Hull served as Regional Director of Leasing, responsible for leasing activities at regional and specialty shopping centers throughout the Southeastern and Southwestern United States. He has extensive experience in urban-theme retail projects with an entertainment, tourist or patron customer base in cities including New York, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Chicago, Miami and San Diego.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Hull worked at The Yarmouth Group, where he served as Vice President and Regional Director of Leasing, responsible for leasing activities at regional shopping centers and other real estate holdings throughout the Eastern United States. His work experience includes Manager of Leasing for the Kevin F. Donohoe Company in Philadelphia, guiding leasing activities at regional shopping centers throughout Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Vermont and Virginia. Mr. Hull brings nearly 20 years of experience to the firm, specializing in retail leasing, development and management.

Mr. Hull is a graduate of Colby College with a bachelor of arts degree in business management. In addition, Mr. Hull is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), serving on the Council’s educational advisory committee and continuing education faculty. Mr. Hull is a Certified Leasing Specialist (CLS). He is also a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI).

Gerard (Stick) Thibodeaux, SCLS



Gerard (Stick) Thibodeaux
is Senior Vice President of Sales and Leasing for Kahn Development Company. He has over thirty years of real estate experience, primarily in retail leasing and development. He began his Shopping Center career as Southeast Regional Manager for Maurin-Ogden, a predecessor to Stirling Properties, one of the top Commercial and Development firms in Louisiana. Prior to joining Kahn Development in June of 2001, he was employed for ten years with Acadia Realty Trust; a New York based Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT), specializing in shopping centers and its predecessor Mark Centers Trust/ Mark Development. During his initial tenure with Acadia Realty/MCT, Stick held the position of Regional Leasing Manager. This position required him to oversee the leasing, management and operations of the company's southeast regional portfolio consisting of twelve shopping centers containing over two million square feet. In 1995, he was named to the position of Vice President of Real Estate, Southeast. In addition to the above duties, he was responsible for all re-development of the portfolio. In 1997, his position was changed to Vice President of Leasing. In addition to the leasing and development duties for the Southeast, he was also given the responsibility for the Midwest portfolio, adding an additional one million square feet to his duties. He was consistently recognized as one of the top leasing producers in the company. As a member of the Kahn Development team, Stick is responsible for all leasing and sales of the company’s portfolio and leads the effort to tenant the Village at Sandhill, a 1,400,000 sq. ft.  mixed use project in Columbia, SC.

He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Louisiana, Lafayette in 1975. In 1978 he completed his real estate appraisal requirements from the University and that same year was named to the Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI). In 1981 he received the Commercial Investment Division (CID) designation from Century 21 International. As owner/manager of his firm, he was recognized as having one of the nation's top ten commercial offices in total sales volume. The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) awarded him the Inaugural Certified Leasing Specialist (CLS) designation in 1994 after completing ICSC’s Advanced Leasing Course at Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan and in 2004 received the designation of Senior Certified Leasing Specialist (SCLS). He has been named ICSC North Carolina/South Carolina State Director for the 2012-2014 terms. He is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the states of Florida and South Carolina and a licensed auctioneer in the state of South Carolina. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), the Urban Land Institute, the National Auctioneers Association (NAA) and The South Carolina Auctioneers Association (SCAA). He has served as a board member on the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce. He has also served as President of the Cardinal Newman School Board and is currently serving on the Cardinal Newman Capital Campaign Fund as well as Secretary of the St. John Neumann Parish Advisory Council

Robert Dake, CLS




Robert Dake is Manager, National Accounts for Brixmor Property Group, based in New York City.  As such he serves as the primary liaison between Brixmor and national retailers across America.  Previously, he was Regional Leasing Director (Southeast) for Equity One, Inc., based in Atlanta, where he was responsible for leasing and management of over 1,000,000 SF of retail in the Southeastern United States.  Dake is a graduate of Miami University in Ohio and is pursuing a Certificate in Real Estate Finance & Investment at NYU’s Schack Institute of Real Estate.  He also received his CLS designation from ICSC this spring.  He is an active member of ICSC and ICSC’s Next Generation Program.

Susan McGuire, CSM, SCLS


Susan McGuire serves as a Principal of CNL Crosland Commercial Real Estate and offers more than 26 years of commercial real estate experience to the team. Susan has a broad array of experience including working on over sixty projects in several Southeastern states, providing portfolio management, leasing, purchase and sales and consulting for all retail product types. Susan began her career with The L&B Group with regional oversight for community centers in North Carolina and Tennessee, and was also the Corporate Marketing Director for Windsor Properties. Prior to joining CNL, Susan served as Senior Vice President of Retail for Crosland, LLC, where she oversaw and directed all activity for the management, leasing, design and construction, disposition, and marketing for both the Crosland and third party portfolios as well as provided Division and Corporate leadership. Susan works closely with all owners to ensure all asset objectives are achieved. She places particular focus on maintaining high levels of performance and occupancy in order to maximize profits for the owner and believes that exceptional customer service to our tenants, third party owners and partners is critical to CNL Crosland’s ongoing success.

Yolanda King, SCSM



Yolanda M. King, SCSM, serves as the Director of Property Management and Leasing for TRINITY Development Group, Inc. Her main responsibilities include managing the company’s assets, negotiating and managing tenant leases, tenant improvement coordination, budgeting and business plans, and coordinating acquisitions and dispositions.

Prior to joining TRINITY in 2004, Yolanda was Director of Property Management for Dewberry Capital Corporation, where she managed the day-to-day operations for more than 1 million square feet of retail in four states.  Additionally, she is an experienced accountant with expertise in job accounting methodologies, cash flow management, general ledger maintenance, auditing, annual reports and financial analysis.
Professionally, Yolanda is a licensed real estate salesperson in Georgia, completed in the ICSC Management I training program in 2006 and earned the Certified Shopping Center Manager (CSM) designation from ICSC in 2007 and Senior Certified Shopping Center Certification in (SCSM) 2010.   Member of the 2011 MS-Atlanta Leadership Class and currently in the Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW-Atlanta)  2012 Leadership Class.


Personally, Yolanda is an avid tennis player and has held volunteer leadership positions in the Atlanta Lawn and Tennis Association (ALTA) and the United States Tennis Association (USTA)

James (Jim) Wittman, SCLS


James Wittman, Vice President of Development and Leasing. Mr. Wittman, a graduate of Indiana University with a BS in Business and Public Policy, has been with Regency Properties since 2000. He is the Principal Real Estate Broker for Regency in Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Mississippi, South Carolina and Alabama. He has earned the designation of Senior Certified Leasing Specialist (SCLS) from the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). Mr. Wittman has also earned the CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designation from the CCIM Institute, the most comprehensive educational program in the commercial real estate industry. He currently serves as the Indiana CCIM President. He is on the executive committee of the board of directors for Junior Achievement of Southern Indiana; board member for Habitat for Humanity of Evansville; and a board member of the Indiana University Alumni Association of Southwest Indiana. With Regency, Mr. Wittman is responsible for directing the development, leasing, and marketing of all its holdings. In addition, a major focus for him is the review of new acquisitions and the negotiations of any changes to those leases.

Rebecca Waters is Vice President - Leasing. She is responsible for leasing associates and activities in EDENS' Southeast region. Based in Atlanta, Waters has more than 25 years of retail real estate experience and holds the Certified Leasing Specialist, Certified Shopping Center Manager and Certified Property Manager designations. Cary Halpern, CSM


Cary Halpern joined Halpern Enterprises in 2004 as a Property Manager. He transitioned to the Development Department in 2007 where his responsibilities included site selection, entitlements, and budget development. In 2011 Cary was promoted to Acquisitions Manager and is involved in identifying acquisition opportunities, market research and analysis, and reviewing due diligence materials. Cary is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and earned his Certified Shopping Center Manager (CSM) designation in 2006. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1996 with a BA in Publication Management. Other interests include playing guitar, golf, and spending time with his wife Stephanie and son Asher.

Shawn Massey, SCLS


Shawn Massey was born and raised in Montreal, Canada and came to the United States on an athletic scholarship to play handball at The University of Memphis where they won the national championship in 1986. As a partner in the Memphis office he handles tenant representation, landlord representation and consulting assignments in the Mid South region. He began his real estate career in 1987 and joined The Shopping Center Group in 2003. A 1985 graduate of the University of Memphis with an undergraduate degree in marketing and MBA in finance in 1986 with a concentration in real estate. Shawn has earned both the industry CCIM and SCLS designations, served on numerous charitable and industry boards in the Mid South and was a Co-Founder of The Memphis Business Academy charter schools, a K-12 charter school for at-risk children in the Memphis area. Shawn is passionate for education and in addition to the charter schools teaches in the graduate real estate program at The University of Memphis and in 2013 will be teaching on-line real estate program at the international Homburg University. He is married to Price Phillips and has a daughter Amanda and a son Matthew.

Michael Puline, SCLS


Michael Puline is Sr. Vice President of Leasing for DLC’s Mid-Atlantic & Southeastern Regions.  As such, he is responsible for the overall strategic direction and execution of all leasing activities encompassing approximately 8,000,000 SF of shopping centers throughout those regions.  Under his leadership, DLC has successfully redeveloped and re-tenanted dozens of value creation projects through hundreds of separate leasing transactions.  Some of his most notable leasing transactions have been with The Fresh Market, Wal-Mart Corp., The Kroger Company, TJX Company, Ross Dress for Less, Starbucks, Lowe’s, LA Fitness, and Publix.

Prior to joining DLC in 2002, he held positions at Baldwin Brothers Real Estate, Puline & Sons, Inc., and Brinker International.  He is a graduate from the Pennsylvania State University at University Park, with a degree in Real Estate.  Mike currently serves on the Board of Directors, Lutheran Towers in Atlanta, GA.  He is a member of ICSC where he is designated as a Senior Certified Leasing Specialists (SCLS) and is a Gracie Jiu Jitsu Purple Belt.

Sheri Ross, CSM



Sheri L. Ross, CSM is the Director of Lease Administration for North American Properties and is currently responsible for all aspects of converting signed proposals to fully-executed leases/amendment for all retail and mixed-use developments handled out of the Atlanta office.  Ross' twenty years of commercial real estate experience is diverse making her a true "utility player". Her background includes property management and leasing in various southeastern US markets stretching from Virginia to Florida on a variety of retail project types including grocery-anchored neighborhood centers, mixed-use centers and power centers. Prior to joining North American, Ross served in various leasing and real estate positions with The Sembler Company and CNM Associates in Atlanta, GA and North Hills, Inc. in Raleigh, NC. Ross is a licensed real estate salesperson in Georgia and she holds the Certified Shopping Center Manager (CSM) designation from the International Council of Shopping Centers. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

John Sebring, CSM


John Sebring was born and raised in Seminole, Florida. He joined The Shopping Center Group in 2005 as a Senior Property Manager and became the Director of Property Management in 2010. Currently, John’s team consists of eleven dedicated property managers. Under John’s direction, the Shopping Center Group is active in all disciplines of property management working with owners and investors including institutions, private equity funds, TICS and also lenders and special servicers in managing REO assets. John also leads TSCG’s construction management operation and has significant experience in shopping center redevelopment and renovation. John is a graduate of Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida where he received a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration with a major in management. John is an active member of the ChainLinks Property Management Council, a member of several industry advisory committees, as well as a member and panelist of ICSC. John is a husband and proud father of five children.
